Learn to draw, paint, photograph, sculpt, sew, mould or create what you actually see!

Life Drawing is a skill that not only helps you measure your subject more accurately but helps you add motion and atmosphere to a composition that otherwise you might not achieve when copying from a photograph. The skill of 'looking' develops and feeds into all your other artistic endeavors.

We run a variety of sessions, mostly untutored. The group pulls on its collective experience which includes professional and semi-professional artists to support and encourage each other. We run tutored sessions too but these are built from the 'need' within the group rather being anything prescriptive such as wanting to learn how to build skin tone or work with oils.

We have a floating group of about 10 members from all walks of life from which we're building a considerate and creative relationship that is bearing fruit.

Standard sessions run on Mondays from 10am-2pm:
10am-11am - short poses based around a theme, Mick or I model either together or separately and these maybe robed
11am-1pm - longer poses based around a theme with another model
1pm-2pm - Mick or I, longer pose based on a theme.

Monthly Painter sessions run on the last Monday of the month:
10am-2pm - one long pose based on a theme, one model

2 hour evening sessions run on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month:
6pm-7pm - 7 2min poses, x 2 15 min poses
7pm-8pm - x1 long pose

We use different models, all shapes, sizes and ages and encourage anyone to give it a go (after a training and vetting session, so you can try before you go in front of a group).

Easels, boards and materials are provided and refreshments are thrown in too.

Pop along if you're curious. An hour is only 5 or do the whole four hours for 10. Evening Sessions are only 7 and include a light meal, ideal if you've just finished work.

Do something different - draw from Life....
